How does smile design dentistry work?
During your initial consultation, your dentist will discuss your smile goals with you. Before beginning any treatment, it’s necessary to start on a clean slate. Your dentist will take care of any oral health problems, such as decay or gum disease, before proceeding. Smile design dentistry uses modern technology to produce more natural-looking results, saves time, and for more successful treatments. Smile transformations can take three weeks to several months depending on each individual. If your teeth and gums are healthy then it should take about three to four weeks. If you require a gum lift, then you will have to wait till the gums are healthy and healed. This could take about eight to ten weeks before work on the smile design begins. If you are getting an implant done then it would take somewhere around 6 months to allow the implants to get integrated into the bone and to allow healing of the gums.
During your smile designing treatment or consultation, it is important to be realistic with the expectations about your new smile look. If your case is a bit complex then it may take more time and several steps. Before trying out the treatment, make sure you and your dentist agree to the expected results.
